Proofreader (3rd Shift)

Summary

Our client seeks a Detail-oriented, experienced legal proofreader joining the Document Services team to address off-hours document-review requests. The hours for this position are M-F, 10pm-5:30am. This position is remote in the Tri-State Area.

Responsibilities

  • Review litigation, corporate, SEC-bound and marketing documents.  Specifically:
    • Briefs and Tables of Authorities
    • Corporate documents, including checking cross-references and defined terms
    • EDGAR documents
    • Firm marketing and collateral materials
  • Correct and return assigned work to supervisory staff in a timely way, being sensitive at all times to a deadline-driven workflow
  • Collaborate in a team and shift environment to complete complex projects
  • Work directly with attorneys on assignments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Legal or corporate proofreading experience required
  • Expert proficiency in reviewing edits, and performing full reads and book reads required
  • Must possess excellent writing skills and a meticulous eye for grammar and formatting, in addition to the strong communication and interpersonal skills germane to a team environment
  • Must be comfortable using technology to generate markups, automate some elements of document review and expedite completion of projects
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required
  • Flexibility with respect to shift scheduling desired

Compensation

$72,000 – $78,000. Our client offers competitive compensation and benefits packages.  The firm considers a number of factors when determining compensation, including, but not limited to, education, years of experience, levels of experience, competency levels and other relevant skills and qualifications.
