Trusts & Estates Paralegal

This role assists attorneys with assignments involving complex paralegal duties requiring initiative, skill, and specialized legal knowledge. Such complex work requires the exercise of independent judgment and discretion.


  • Administer estates and trusts;
  • Prepare federal and state estate tax returns;
  • Prepare fiduciary accountings and income tax returns;
  • Generally assist lawyers in estate planning and administration;
  • Management of all aspects of trust accounts;
  • Preparation of:
    • Probate papers;
    • Federal and state estate and inheritance tax returns;
    • Federal gift tax returns;
    • Fiduciary accountings;
    • Federal and state fiduciary income tax returns.
  • Extensive client contact;
  • Calendar and monitor key dates and deadlines.


  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university;
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in complex estate planning and administration;
  • Proficiency with fiduciary accounting including expertise in preparing estate, gift and fiduciary income tax returns;
  • Paralegal certification from an ABA approved program and current employment with a law firm or accounting firm is preferred;
  • This is an opportunity to assist with sophisticated planning for high and very-high net worth clients in a large and growing trusts and estates department
  • The successful candidate is a self-starter and is able to work independently. Excellent communication skills are a must since extensive client interaction is integral to this job. This position requires careful attention to detail and superior interpersonal skills.


The salary range for this position is $85,000 – $110,000, nonexempt.
