Summary

The Technology Trainer will be an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who will work under the guidance and direction of the Technology Training Manager to develop and deliver highly effective Firm-wide technology training programs for legal and non-legal staff located in all their offices throughout the United States and United Kingdom. The Technology Trainer must be extremely knowledgeable in their field of expertise and possess solid technical aptitude. Additionally, the client expects the successful candidate to be an excellent communicator, able to explain complex subjects in a clear and engaging way. The goal is to contribute to the development of their users’ technical/IT skills to enhance their performance and ability to meet organizational needs. 

Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for delivering New Hire and ongoing training classes. The Technology Trainer will work with the Technology Training Manager to implement and maintain new and ongoing training initiatives and programs for all employees to help ensure their further development and growth.
  • Determine course content according to objectives and prepare training material in accordance with organizational requirements including, but not limited to, session plans, course presentation, course handouts etc. and execute online training sessions, webinars, workshops etc. in groups or individually.
  • Deliver, support and assist with the creation and maintenance of training material including, but not limited to, e-learning content (using iSpring), end-user documentation including workflows, house styled quick reference guides etc. according to organizational requirements.
  • Administer the Firm’s Learning Management System including, but not limited to, creating courses and learning paths, user maintenance, training schedules, classroom agendas, obtaining feedback to improve the effectiveness of future training programs etc.
  • Participate in all training and software upgrade projects.
  • Assist User Support with support calls as needed.
  • Keep up-to-date on new technology.
  • Continuously enhance technical instructional delivery and presentation skills.
  • Any other responsibilities as required by management. 

Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a technical/software trainer within a professional services organization (preferably a law firm environment) or adult educator a must.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Certification such as CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer) would be a strong asset.
  • Certifications in Microsoft Office and other business-related applications preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in public speaking.
  • Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical subjects.
  • Awareness of the learning cycle and different learning styles.
  • Experience developing, designing and implementing training programs.
  • Ability to address training needs with complete courses.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization – both independently and in teams.
  • Experience and knowledge of the following is required: Windows 10, Microsoft 365 Suite, Document Management Systems (iManage, preferred), Zoom.
  • Ability to learn, document and train integrated software quickly including, but not limited to, Accuroute, BigHand Office (Create, DocID, Hyperstyles, Scrub), Redact-It, Best Authority, Adobe DC, Expert Time, DocXtools, CompuLaw Vision.
  • Willingness to occasionally work early mornings or nights to offer training to users in multiple time zones.

Salary: $85,000.00-$90,000.00, dependent on experience and location
