SUMMARY

Global law firm is seeking a Senior Coordinator-Associate Development and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (“DEI”) (“Senior Coordinator”) to join the Legal Talent Office (“LTO”) in the New York office.  This multi-faceted role will support a variety of associate development processes—with the primary focus on the staffing process and associate engagement—in addition to coordinating DEI-related programs and events.

The Senior Coordinator will report to the Manager-Associate Development & Recruiting.  They will work closely with associates, senior partners, and practice group leaders, including the Litigation Associate Development Partner (“ADP”), the Diversity Management Department (“DMD”), and other teams within the LTO.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • In consultation with the ADP and Manager, staff Litigation associates to new matters and support development by exposing associates to a variety of different practice areas and senior lawyers.
  • Run and review utilization reports in order to ensure staffing needs of the group are met, and to encourage an equitable distribution of work and professional development opportunities in keeping with client needs, associates’ development goals, and the Firm’s commitment to DEI.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, communicating regularly and proactively with the ADP, Director – DEI & Talent Development (“Director”), and Manager regarding practice group and office needs; keep senior leaders abreast of progress and feedback related to ongoing initiatives to enhance the associate experience, morale, and retention.
  • Collaborate with Firm leadership, Director, and Manager on initiatives related to associate engagement; plan and execute programming for the Firm’s Associate Experience Committee (“AEC”), including annual focus groups with associates at all levels, class happy hours, and open houses.
  • Help guide junior associates with integration into the Firm and advise junior associates on work and mentoring relationships.
  • Assist DMD in administration and implementation of Firm-wide DEI programs as part of the Allyship Learning Curriculum (including Firm-wide resource guides, all aspects of Heritage Month programming, and CLE-accredited DEI trainings).
  • Support DMD with designing and planning various professional development programs, events, and trainings for the Women’s Initiative Committee and affinity networks.
  • Work closely with various team members, other departments, and key stakeholders on multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Additional responsibilities and special projects may be assigned.

In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees. This includes complying with the firm’s information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • B.A. or B.S. required.
  • Experience working at a law firm or similarly fast-paced professional services environment preferred.

The base salary range offered for this role will be between $65,000 and $85,000.  When determining a candidate’s compensation offer, elements unique to each person are taken into consideration including but not limited to skill set, experience level, performance, professional certifications, degrees and location, as well as the needs of the Firm.

The total compensation package for this position may include overtime pay, discretionary bonuses and other benefits.

Salary: $65,000.00-$85,000.00, dependent on experience
