Responsibilities

  • Support case teams as sole litigation case manager, or part of a larger team, during all stages of litigation from investigation through trial and appeal
  • Actively participate in document collection and production, deposition preparation, hearings, and trials
  • Conduct factual research
  • Organize and maintain case files
  • Utilize databases and eDiscovery solutions
  • Assist in drafting motion papers, correspondence, and other documents
  • Prepare and e-file documents with the court
  • Attend trials and court hearings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with high academic standing
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about our commitment to civil rights and public interest law
  • Flexible and energetic in a unique collaborative environment of a new and growing law firm
  • Excellent communication skills, writing and editing skills, research ability, and attention to detail
  • The initiative to problem-solve
  • The ability to multitask and work well under pressure with unexpected and strict deadlines
  • The flexibility to work overtime and travel as needed
  • Strong computer skills, and the ability to learn new and innovative tools and solutions
  • Prior law firm litigation paralegal experience preferred but not required
  • Based in either the New York or Washington DC area or willing to relocate

Salary: Highly competitive merit based compensation
