Summary

The Legal Personnel Specialist is an individual who has experience with juggling multiple work streams and has the ability to keep meticulous records.  The Legal Personnel Specialist will report to the Sr. Legal Personnel Manager primarily and Director of Legal Personnel would oversee both. Primary responsibilities include:

Responsibilities

  • Conduct orientations and perform onboarding duties for lateral associate and counsel hires including maintaining records and coordinating cross-departmentally on arrival logistics
  • Support the Director of Legal Personnel and Sr. Legal Personnel Manager with secondment administration.
  • Support the Director of Legal Personnel and Sr. Legal Personnel Manager with AWP administration.
  • Support the Director of Legal Personnel and Sr. Legal Personnel Manager with annual associate and counsel compensation.
  • Support the Director of Legal Personnel and Sr. Legal Personnel Manager with lawyer evaluation processes.
  • Manage status changes (arrivals, department and office transfer processes) and keep personnel records accurate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Minimum of 5-8 years administrative experience, preferably in an HR capacity and preferably in a law or professional services firm;
  • Proficient in Word and Excel. Outlook, Vi Eval, Lotus Notes a plus;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills;
  • Highly developed organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail; and
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects, and to work under pressure, including overtime, in a deadline-driven environment.
