The Client E-Billing Analyst is responsible for a variety of functions that support the Firm’s electronic invoicing requests and initiatives. These tasks include managing the appropriate rates for all clients in e-billing systems, being responsible for correcting and completing electronic invoices, and researching and reviewing submitted information. This position will also create monthly accruals and budgets, analyze trends and assist with process improvement initiatives. The Client E-Billing Analyst must have the ability to provide high level support to billing partners, clients and firm management.


  • Ability to work with the eBillingHub platform to generate LEDES and XML files, manipulate invoices for transmission and map new or existing clients to ensure compliance with specified billing requirements;
  • Review client billing guidelines and manage appropriate rates in e-billing systems;
  • Responsible for e-billing implementation for clients;
  • Work with Attorneys and Billing Analysts to ensure e-bills are prepared accurately in accordance with clients’ outside counsel policies;
  • Obtain matter identification numbers from clients and manage this information in 3E;
  • Submit timekeeper data to clients;
  • Receive and submit monthly requests for e-bill clients’ invoices in a timely manner;
  • Work with Billing Analysts to prepare appeals for rejected invoices and troubleshoot to resolve all issues;
  • Track status of invoices uploaded, identify all issues and work with Billing Partners, Collection Administrators and Billing Analysts to address client deductions and other issues;
  • Respond to requests for monthly accruals and provide budgets, forecasts and historical profitability to clients and/or Firm Partners;
  • Analyze data in e-billing system and provide weekly performance results to Billing Manager;
  • Collaborate with the Billing Manager to develop and streamline e-billing processes and procedures to increase efficiency, effectiveness and quality of e-billing operations;
  • Create and maintain new user accounts within e-billing vendors;
  • Complete special projects, ad hoc projects and requests from Billing Partners and/or Billing Manager;
  • Contact clients when appropriate for assistance with new vendor/client/matter/timekeeper set-up; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with requested billing overflow.


  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in the legal billing industry;
  • Working knowledge with legal billing software database structure (preferably Elite or 3E);
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Working knowledge of LEDES electronic files;
  • Experience with various e-billing vendors and requirements;
  • Experience with eBillingHub;
  • Superior verbal, written and interpersonal skills needed to communicate clearly and concisely with senior management and with Partners and clients;
  • Proficiency in e-billing;
  • Ability to deal discreetly with confidential information;
  • Must be highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently;
  • Knowledge of electronic billing vendor sites preferred;
  • Strong analytical skills, including excellent detail-orientated proofreading skills;
  • Ability to adapt to cyclical periods, peak work loads, new assignments and work independently to meet deadlines;
  • Strong leadership skills; must work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Excellent multitasking skills;
  • Superior customer relations/service skills; and
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
