Summary

A global disputes law firm seeks a Business Analyst to join the Office of Global Legal Services and report to the Director of Global Legal Services. The Office of Global Legal Services (GLS) oversees the management of the firm’s legal case teams (attorneys, legal analysts, litigation assistants), including their strategic utilization and compliance with best practices and legal protocols. GLS departments include Legal Staffing & Utilization, Attorney Development, Analyst Program, Litigation Assistant Program, International Lawyer Program, Pro Bono Program, Managing Attorney’s Office Services (including E-Discovery, Court Service & Filings, Court Docket & Calendar, Library Services, Attorney Admissions, and IP Case Management), and Legal Project Management.

The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring GLS departments are producing accurate and insightful reporting on the firm’s productivity and legal operations. Responsibilities

  • Utilize systems and data to research, analyze and resolve business issues with efficiency
  • Produce monthly reports for productivity and presents findings to GLS department and C-Suite
  • Maintain data accuracy across a variety of platforms (3E/Elite, Intapp Matter Team Manager, Excel) for purposes of tracking legal staffing needs and activity levels that dovetail into crucial financial projections
  • Collaborate with system managers (3E/Elite, Handshake, Intapp Matter Team Manager) to identify opportunities for streamlining operations and using technology to augment analysis
  • Prepare critical legal staffing analysis materials for regular Partner and management meetings
  • Work cross-functionally with the Attorney Development, Talent Management and Strategy departments to provide metrics for litigation personnel’s professional development needs
  • Gather and synthesize critical information from various stakeholders and produce useful reports and visuals to effectively communicate your insights to cross-functional teams and management
  • Uphold and review best practices to enhance GLS business requirements and process flows based on business needs
  • Assess cross-functional business processes and activities and revamp for effectiveness
  • Analyze situations to identify causes, gather relevant information, assess and recommend possible solutions to the problem

Requirements

  • A. or B.S. degree required
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in business analysis or a related field, with a history of leading and supporting successful projects
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; experience with 3E/Elite is a plus
  • Interest or some familiarity in the legal industry strongly preferred
  • Exhibit excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills with great attention to details and accuracy
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and self-motivation, with a desire to take initiative
  • Proactively follow through and demonstrate ability to anticipate and address business needs
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills, including ability to seamlessly prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Possess excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with an ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, and confidentiality in interactions with all levels of the organization
  • Advanced technical and documentation skills, with an ability to collect, organize, analyze and efficiently present significant amounts of information
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Highly adaptable to a fluid and ever-changing work environment

Salary: up to $100,000.00, dependent on experience
